Overview

This project explores the design of a quadruped robot built to navigate uneven ground with controlled, stable movement.

It combines mechanical design, electrical literacy, and programming into one integrated project.

Approach

I focused on building a mechanically simple but robust bot that could support dynamic movement without overcomplicating the design.

  • Designed the body and leg geometry.
  • Worked through locomotion concepts to coordinate movement between legs.
  • Test the control systems and mechanical components.

Challenges

One big challenge was desiging the leg mechanisms to be light enough to allow for agile movement while maintaining structural integrity.

Another challenge was desinging the gait patterns that looked natural and worked well.

Results

The project has produced a functional robotic platform with a strong foundation for future control tuning and terrain testing.

The gaits are still in need of refinement, but the mechanical structure is ready to accommodate this integration.
