Overview
This project focused on designing a compact go-kart frame with a strong emphasis on weight reduction and structural rigidity.
The goal was to create a frame that could be fabricated reliably while still feeling responsive and stable under load.
Approach
I approached the design from a structural-first perspective, iterating the geometry around stiffness and manufacturability.
- Modeled the frame in SolidWorks.
- Refined tube placement to reduce weight.
- Prepared a design that could be built using accessible fabrication methods.
Challenges
Balancing strength and simplicity was the main challenge. The design needed to stay light while still being practical to build.
Results
The final frame concept was lightweight, structurally clean, and ready for further prototyping and testing.
The next steps are to finish integrating the drivetrain and steering systems.
